Teaching and Training

  • Secondary school teaching assignments: English, reading, speech (8 years full-time ).
  • College teaching assignments: communication skills, curriculum development, editing, recordkeeping, technical communications, technical reading (8 years adjunct).
  • Instructional designer for the Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center (ATEEC) at the Eastern Iowa Community College District. (12 years designing teaching and learning materials and strategies. Leadership in train-the-trainer programs, such as the ATEEC Fellows Institute at the University of Northern Iowa (seven summer workshops) and the University of Wisconsin Center on Education and Work TeachNET project, in which secondary and community college teams of teachers applied contextual teaching and learning methods).

Contract Work

  • Instructional/web designer for Iowa Department of Education professional development projects: Iowa Professional Development Model (2003-ongoing); Iowa Content Network (2004-ongoing); Every Student Counts (2005-ongoing).
