An instructional designer is a professional educator who uses a systematic process, or "model," when developing training and education programs. To produce results for clients, instructional designers must be good listeners, skilled technical communicators, and sensitive to organizational cultures and dynamics.

Diane Gere is an experienced instructional designer and technical and educational writer (see Bio), who has focused on environmental compliance education and training programs and on English skills development. She believes in the team approach to training development, in which Diane and a subject matter expert from your organization collaborate on the components listed below.

The instructional design team's process would usually include some or all of the following components:

  • Preparation of train-the-trainer materials and strategies
  • Preparation of student/trainee instructional and test materials

  • Assisting with records management of training results
  • Follow-up study of employee compliance


Diane Gere Associates instructional design services may be engaged at an hourly rate or a negotiated total fee. Quality assurance regarding our service includes task checklists, regular status reports, surveys of our client's satisfaction, and follow-up on needs revealed in the quality assurance process.

Where a larger instructional design team is needed, Diane Gere can coordinate the services of Associates.
