An instructional designer is a professional educator who uses a systematic process, or "model," when developing training and education programs. To produce results for clients, instructional designers must be good listeners, skilled technical communicators, and sensitive to organizational cultures and dynamics. Diane Gere is an experienced instructional designer and technical and educational writer (see Bio), who has focused on environmental compliance education and training programs and on English skills development. She believes in the team approach to training development, in which Diane and a subject matter expert from your organization collaborate on the components listed below.
